We’re excited…you should be too!

You can now sell your items for cash! We will be buying items outright two days a week (you’ll receive 35% of the selling price)--Thursdays and Fridays starting October 6^th, 2011.

You can also trade items for store credit (receiving 50% of the selling price) any day of the week, starting October 1^st, 2011.

No need to make an appointment, just stop in!

Never fear we still have our traditional consignment account (receiving 45% of the selling price) as well! See below for details and look for updates on our website soon!

Buying Outright Policy

Selling your items is simple and easy. On your first trip to sell with us please allow at least 20 minutes with our staff to sort and price your items. Please note this is a variable time frame that is dependent on the number of items you bring in. On average 20 minutes per bag. During this time we are able to answer any questions you may have about our policies and procedures.

When you bring your items in, we will select what our customers will buy. Please understand this selection process comes from our expert trend analysis of what sells based off the demographic of our store. Certain items that are damaged (unwashed, stained, excessive wear, holes, and misshaped silhouettes) will not be accepted. There is no need to bring your items in on hangers, as we provide these.

You will receive 35% of the selling price of your items in CASH on the day you come in. A receipt will be issued when you drop off your items indicating the number of items we will buy and the amount you will receive. Please keep this receipt for your reference. Note that once cash is paid for your items they become the property of Urban Attic.

Store Credit Accounts

Trading your items is simple and easy. On each trip to trade with us please allow at least 20 minutes with our staff to sort and price your items. Please note this is a variable time frame that is dependent on the number of items you bring in. On average 20 minutes per bag. During this time we are able to answer any questions you may have about our policies and procedures.

You will receive 50% of the selling price of your items as store credit. Note that once credit is issued for your items they become the property of Urban Attic. No need to remember your account balance as our computer system tracks it for you and adjusts your credit as you shop.

Consignment Policy

Being a consignor is simple and easy. On your first trip to consign with us please allow at least 15 minutes with our staff. There will be some minimal paperwork to fill out to open your account. During that time we are able to answer and address any questions you may have about our consignment policies and procedures. After this initial account opening you will have the convenience to simply drop off future consignments without waiting.

When you bring your items in, we will select what our customers will buy. Please understand this selection process comes from our expert trend analysis of what sells based off the demographic of our store. Certain items that are damaged (unwashed, stained, excessive wear, holes, and misshaped silhouettes) will not be accepted). There is no need to bring your items in on hangers, as we provide these.

You will receive 45% of the selling price of your items. You will receive a consignment receipt when you drop off your consignment items. It will list your item’s number, description, and selling price. Please keep this receipt for your reference.

Checks are issued on the 15^th of every month via CHASE Bank. This check will pay out for items sold in the previous month, and will be sent to the mailing address on file. If you have address changes please update with us immediately so you don’t miss a check. If you have not received your monthly check after 10 business days from the 15^th, please send us an email and we will contact CHASE to rectify the error.

We will display your consigned items for 60 days. The selling price will be marked down 20% after 45 days. At the end of the 60-day time period, any unsold items will be removed from the floor. We will send you an email notification at this time so you can come pick up your unsold items. If we do not hear a response from you within 1 week, indicating you will pick up the unsold items, we will donate your unclaimed items to a local charitable organization.

We pride ourselves on maintaining a great network of consigners. We do our best to sell your items at the highest possible profit to you, and provide prompt response to all your questions and concerns. As with all retail stores, Urban Attic assumes no liability or responsibility for your consigned items in the event of theft, loss, or damage.

Halloween. The one night a year where it is appropriate for grown adults to wear whatever they please. But it's not all fun like when you were a kid. For one thing there's the pressure to come up with something clever. Or maybe you'll go the easier route at your local costume retailer and fork over $50+ for a sexy (add favorite fantasy character) in a bag.

We have provided you a few budget friendly suggestions. Some are current pop culture favorites, some take a more traditional approach, and most you can find right in your own closet.

Many recreate the looks of Lady Gaga for Halloween, but what could be more memorable than the meat dress. In NY butchers are actually selling proportioned strips of meat for $7.50 in preparation for copy-cat Gaga's this Halloween. We suggest a less wasteful approach in the form of torn fabric with a steak-like print. For an extra special touch, maybe even add a few plastic steaks from your local pet supply store.

There is a costume for every woman character you could ever think of...and they will probably all be in the same place you are.
